  • Film Director, Professor of Directing at the Higher Film Institute – Academy of Arts
  • 2004-2006 Professor of TV and Radio Direction at the Faculty of Mass Communication – 6th of October University.
  • 2005-2009 Professor of Directing at the International Academy of Engineering and Media Sciences.
  • 2009 and until now he supervises the film-making workshop at Badrakhan Center for Culture and Arts.

  • He is cinematographer (DOP) and Director
  • He was born in Kermanshah on December 26, 1973
  • He studied Javix at the Kermanshah Institute.
  • He studied film directing at the University of Tehran, 1999.
  • He has more than 50 films as director of lighting and filming in cinema (Iranian – Iraqi – Turkish)
  • Executive Director of some fictional and documentary projects.
  • Almost 35 international awards.

BAROJ AKRAYI

Baroj Akrayi

  • Writer, poet, translator and photographer
  • Born in 1963 Kurdistan, Iraq.
  • 1974 migrated to Iran.
  • 1990 migrated to Sweden.
  • 2010 returned to Kurdistan, Iraq.
  • Baroj writes poetry, criticism, and screenplay in Kurdish.
  • He has six collections of poetry, also does translation. He translated well known Persian literature into Kurdish language, and he only writes stories in Persian. He has two collections of stories.
  • Baroj also acted in: Memories on Stone, Directed by: Shakawt Amin Korki

Benedetta Argentieri

  • Benedetta is based in New York City. Since 2014 she has been focusing on Iraq and Syria with several trips on the ground.
  • She writes for both Italian and American publications while directing full-length documentaries.
  • Benedetta graduated from Columbia University where she obtained an MA in Journalism and Politics.

ERIKA GONZALES FLORES

Erika González Flores

  • BA in History (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM) MA in International
  • History (Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, CIDE A.C.). Diploma in
  • Curatorial Studies (Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana), and International Conflicts and Reconciliation Processes (Universidad Iberoamericana).
  • She has collaborated as a historical advisor for public institutions such as Mexican Senate and the Congress TV Channel. She also coordinated the first Women’s Museum in Mexico City between 2011 and 2015.
  • She participated in the 2018 and 2019 annual conferences “Diversities of the Arab World”, organized by the History Department at Centro de Investigación y Docencia
  • Económicas, along with the School of Government and Social Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey, hold in Mexico City, presenting lectures on Kurdish Cinema. Erika is coauthorof the book “Sin maletas. Historias de refugiados desde el exilio” (Bogotá: Ícono,2017), with a chapter about Yezidi Women from Sinjar, based on the original story by the Kurdish photojournalist Seivan Salim. She did a research stay at the Center for Turkish,Ottoman, Balkan and Central Asia Studies, EHESS, (Paris, France), in 2019.
  • Sheorganized the exhibition of Rojava International Film Festival at the National University,in Mexico City in 2019.
  • Her master thesis is the first work in Latin America about the Kurdish Cinema by focusing on both the national discourse and the transnational practices.
  • Her research interests include Diaspora, Identities and Transnational Cinema.
